The absorber comprises a stretched conductor (1), mounted parallel to a surface (2) which reflects electromagnetic waves on an electrically insulating substrate (10), with an electrically open-circuit end (8), the other end (7) being shorted via conductor (9) to the surface (2). Between the ends is a series circuit of inductive (4), capacitive (5) and resistive (6) components which define a specific resonant frequency. USE/ADVANTAGE - Can be mounted on surfaces of moving objects such as aircraft, ships and vehicles to attenuate rada reflections.
