PURPOSE:To grind and polish the surface almost uniformly, even in case of a deformed material, by providing a driving control means which drives a locking cylinder with the arrival of a work caused on the work detection of a first work detector only and holds the rod stopping position at the deeper stepping position descended more than a reference stepping position. CONSTITUTION:A locking cylinder 21 is driven on arrival of a work W caused on the work detection of first and second work detectors S1, S2, in case of more than the reference height, a pressing member 11 is held at the reference stepping position with the rod 22 thereof being fixed at the reference position, the work W is executed with the stepping pressure of a reference pressure and the necessary grinding and polishing are executed. On the other hand, in case of less than the reference height, the locking cylinder 21 is driven on arrival of the work caused on the work detection of the first work detector S1 only and the pressing member 18 is held at a deep stepping pressure position with the rod 22 being fixed at the position slightly extended from the reference position. |
