<p>PURPOSE:To charge gas rapidly into a life-saving apparatus at the time of emergency by fixing a gas cartridge rigidly into the fitting threaded hole of a housing so that the seal of the gas cartridge faces the needle tip of a slider, as well as connecting the life-saving apparatus ventilably to the gas port of the chamber. CONSTITUTION:When a hook D is pulled out in the direction of an arrow, the hook D comes off the holding piece 8 of a housing A, the holding of a hammer 7 is released, and simultaneously, the spring force of a spring 5 is applied to a quick water-soluble holder 13. A wheel B is then rotated being pulled by a string 24, a slider C slides forward by the spring force of the spring 5, and a needle 10 collides against the seal 26 of a gas cartridge E. A semi-circu lar cam 19 is rotated to press a cam face 20 and move the slider C forward, and the needle 10 breaks through the seal 26. The hook D is then cut off, and the needle 10 remains stuck in the seal 26. When the housing A in this state is thrown into water together with a life-saving apparatus 20 connected to a gas port 2, the holder 13 melts immediately, and gas in the cartridge E is charged into the life-saving apparatus 29.</p> |
