PURPOSE:To attain adjustment regardless of the capacity of a reference capacitor in a device by providing an adjusting circuit which adjusts either a first or a second voltage. CONSTITUTION:As the adjusting circuit, an adjusting variable resistor 130 is connected to a partial pressure resistor in a capacity voltage converting circuit 126 which generates a reference voltage VS. By making a voltage VP variable, the reference voltage VS can be adjusted. In a reference cartridge 131, a developing sleeve used when toner shortage is detected at a toner quantity Mg and a capacitor whose capacity is the same as that of conductors, are housed. To make the value of the reference voltage VS equal to one of the voltage VDC outputted from the capacity voltage converting circuit on a side where the toner quantity is measured when the reference cartridge is loaded, the value of the voltage VS is adjusted by the variable resistor 130. In such a manner the adjusting circuit is provided, whereby toner shortage detection can be correctly performed regardless of the capacity of the reference capacitor 128. |
