Ski boot with outer rigid shell and rigid sole - has heel suspended above ski surface to free space between boot and ski

The heel has in vertical longitudinal section an outer rounded profile and two transversely aligned fixed rigid pins (6) which project on each side of the boot in order to engage with a holding and support device (8) of the boot. The pins are positioned at the back in order to ensure release of the boot from the binding so that the heel is suspended above the ski surface in order to leave a space between the boot and the ski or binding. The position of the pins (6) at the rear end is determined in order to ensure the release of the boot from the binding at least in a substantially horizontal plane through turning one of the pins about the other wherein the latter is supported on the holding and support device. USE/ADVANTAGE - Shorter boot positioned correctly in binding even when there is snow on the sole.
