A surfacing detector and/or target strike detector forms part of the underwater projectile to delay the ignition point accordingly, using a triggered measuring circuit. The trigger device consists of an electronic circuit (ES) whose overload-proof acceleration sensor (P) output signal is first filtered by a band-pass filter (BP) and then fed to two threshold switches (K1, K2) with different threshold values (S1, S2). The threshold switch output signals are routed to the measuring circuit (M). Pref. the acceleration sensor is a piezo-resistive pick-up with greatly reduced seismic mass. The measuring circuit uses a pressure sensor to check the underwater pressure on the projectile prior to firing. An evaluation circuit derives the associated delay for the ignition signal. ADVANTAGE - Eliminates firing error by corrosion-proof igniter set-up.
