PURPOSE:To attain speed reduction required at the time of completing passing and to improve the operability by starting a timer means in response to a signal of a direction change detecting means to inhibit shift-up of a transmission until it reaches a designated time and cancel the inhibition when it reaches the designated time. CONSTITUTION:A control unit 14 receives signals from sensors of an accelerator opening degree 8, an engine rotating speed 9 and a car velocity 10 and signals from an inhibitor switch 11, a right winker switch 12 and ASCD 13, and gives a speed change command to shift solenoids 17, 18 in comparison with an incorporated shift schedule. In the case of detecting a will of changing a lane from a signal of the right winker switch 12, starting an inhibit timer for shift-up and detecting a will of acceleration in the lapse of a designated time or after a driver's deceleration, the control unit 14 is operated to cancel the shift-up inhibition. Accordingly, the deceleration required for completing passing can be attained, and the operability can be improved. |
