Miniature switching relay of H=section - providing double insulated chamber for magnet and contact systems

A miniaturised electro-mechanical relay has a magnetic core (14) within a former (80) wound with a coil. An L-shaped armature (18) is supported within a sleeve (22) and pivots about the corner when the excitation field is generated. The contact assembly is located in a separate chamber (50) in the base of the device and has a moving contact (28) on a leaf spring carrier (24). A pin of insulating material (68) is displaced by the armature to move the contact between a pair of fixed contacts (26,30). A wall (12) separates the two isolating chambers (48,50).
