PURPOSE:To realize a brilliant 3D display by using a cylindrical lens array polarizing plate as a polarizing plate. CONSTITUTION:A cylindrical lens array is used as the polarizing plate of a 3D display on which display data for right eye and left eye are displayed alter nately at every second scanning line. A layer 1 is formed with isotropic acrylate resin, and a layer 2 with nematic liquid crystal, and a layer 3 with flint glass, and the curvature of the lens array is set so as to focus a focal point on a picture element. The orienting direction of the liquid crystal is shifted by 90 deg. at every second scanning line corresponding to the polarized output of the polarizing plate, and signals for right eye and left eye are inputted at every second scanning line, and a user uses spectacles with polarizing plate in which polarized light from the right and left eyes are intersected orthogonally. There fore, incident light intersection orthogonally can be disaseembled image to two rectangular polarizing groups, and a brilliant three dimensional can be observed with a transmission factor of nearly 100%. |
