PURPOSE:To lower the reflection of light shielding parts and to provide an easily visible display by roughening the boundary faces between a transparent substrate and the light shielding parts. CONSTITUTION:The light shielding parts 15 are formed on the glass substrate 12 and the boundary faces 26 between the substrate 12 and the light shielding parts 15 are roughened. The light shielding parts 15 delineate windows 16 of prescribed patterns and dyed layers 17, 18, 19 or color display are formed on these windows 16 to three primary colors; red, green and blue. The surfaces of the dyed layers 17, 18, 19 are coated with a protective layer 21 for the org. dyed layers. Transparent electrodes 22 made of ITO are provided thereon and are patterned. A protective film 27 is pro vided thereon. The color filters constituted in such a manner are disposed on the lower side thereof, by which a liquid crystal display is constituted. The surface roughening of the boundary faces 26 is executed by patterning and coating the non- surface roughened parts with a resist by using, for example, a photolithography stage and dissolving the parts which are not coated with the resist by hydrofluoric acid, etc., then removing the resist and cleaning the surfaces. The reflection of the boundary faces 26 between the subtrate 12 and the light shielding parts 15 is lowered in this way and, therefore, easily visible display is obtd. |
