PURPOSE:To remarkably reduce the number of assembly adjusting man-hours by detecting the prescribed position of a focusing lens capable of moving along an optical axis with a position sensor, storing the difference between the prescribed position and reference position of the lens, and driving the lens based on stored contents with a lens driving means. CONSTITUTION:By the instruction of a control means 30 a stepping motor 23 is driven and a focus cam 18 serving as a converting member is driven via a motor driving circuit 32, and the focus lens L1 is moved. A position which is shifted by the prescribed number of steps from the position is defined as an initial position. Then, a value for a lens reference position A stored in a storage means 33 is read out to allow the initial position to correspond with the number of steps A. The value A is written in the storage means 33 in such a manner that the number of steps between a first position and a second position is measured, when a camera is assembled and adjusted. Therefore, when the number of steps is 0, the position of the lens L1 corresponds to the reference position; that is, an infinite position, and focusing is carried out based on range finding data 31 by using the position of the lens L1 as the reference position. |
