PURPOSE:To improve transfer efficiency by providing a switching means to alternatively output the output signals of first and second image pickup sensors to an output terminal. CONSTITUTION:In charge transfer parts 3a and 3b of sensors A and B, transfer channels are respectively formed by impressing a high voltage to a common high voltage impressing terminal 4 and the output signals of output parts 5a and 5b are outputted respectively through switching terminals 13a and 13b of a changeover switch 13 as the switching means to an output terminal 14. Accordingly, when the total number of picture elements is same, the numbers of the picture elements in photo-electric converting parts 1a and 1b of the image pickup sensors A and B are respectively decreased rather than conventional numbers and by reducing the number of the picture elements, a rate for a generated charge to be caught by a defect, etc., is decreased in the case of transfer. Thus, the transfer efficiency can be improved. |
