When reproducing the video signal under the repeat mode, the VTR reproduces the video signal, but transfers to the forward picture search (PS) mode to search the next recorded area fastly in case of detecting the no-recorded area. If the tape is ended, the VTR performs the FPS function for certain time, and rewinds the tape and starts to reproduce the tape from the first part of the tape in case of detecting no signal during the certain time.
