PURPOSE:To carry out a normal steering by operating a handle, by composing a hydraulic actuator by inserting a piston which has a herical pinion to gear with a rack rod, to a cylinder, and spline-connecting a steering shaft to the shaft at one end of the piston. CONSTITUTION:At the base end of a steering shaft 3 holding a steering wheel at its tip, a herical pinion is connected which consists of a piston 16 having a pinion 16a integrally and supported rotatable in a housing 4, and the pinion 16a is geared with a rack rod 6 held in a rack tube 5 which is unitary with the housing 4. And oil chambers 34 and 35 housing springs 27 and 22 respectively are partitioned at both sides of the piston 16 to which seal members 12 are installed at its both ends, so as to compose a hydraulic actuator A. And, the steering shaft 3 is connected to the outer end of a shaft 20 extended from one end of the piston 16, through a spline 26, and thereby the rack rod 6 can be driven separately from the rotation of the steering shaft 3, by the movement of the piston 16 in the axial direction. |
