PURPOSE: To inexpensively produce a die without performing machining requiring a long time by stacking a plurality of tube elements mutually in an unrestricted state and mutually fixing a plurality of shaping teeth to insert them in the gaps between the tube elements to form mutually crossing extrusion slot rows molding an extruded material into a honeycomb structure. CONSTITUTION: Pipes 90 are loosely housed in a V-shaped block holder 40' to form a pipe stack 50. A fixing jig 100 positioning tooth elements 94 having head parts 96, transition regions 97 and shaft parts 98 is pref. formed by using a wire grid 106 wherein a large number of pins 104 are planted in a hollow square frame 102 and wires are wound around the pins and positioned with respect to the pipes 90 by the aligning pins 109 connecting the frame 102 and the V-shaped block holder 40'. The tooth elements 94 are inserted into the wire grid one by one to arrange the head parts 96 in a correct pattern and extrusion slot rows 110, 112 crossing with each other are formed highly accurately and, when the shaft parts 98 are inserted into the gaps 114 of the pipe stack, the respective pipes 90 are centered to be aligned. When the gaps between the pipes are filled with a filling material, an extrusion material flows only through the supply holes 115 of the pipes 90. |
