PURPOSE:To provide a physiologically active substance useful for preventing and treating hypertension, hyperlipidemia and obesity, comprising a thermally unstable component extracted from Polyporales grifola or Tricholomo flammulina. CONSTITUTION:A physiologically active substance containing as a main ingredient a protein extracted and separated from the fruit body or hypha of Aphyllophorales Polyporaceae grifola or Agaricales Tricholomataceae flammulina exhibits vasodepressor activity, serum lipid lowering activity and body weight decreasing activity and is employed as an active ingredient for the preventing and treating agent of hypertension, hyperlipidemia and obesity. For example, the fruit body of the Polyporales grifola is dried, crushed and extracted with water. The extract solution is vacuum-concentrated as such or at <=40 deg.C and lyophilized. The product is passed through a column to adsorb an active ingredient, which is eluted with sodium chloride fractionated by a chromatography to provide the active ingredient. Since the active ingredient is thermally unstable, the active ingredient is processed into a granular or tablet-like food or drug, alcoholic drink, medicated wine, tea-like drink, etc. |
