The invention relates to a device making it possible to clean, without risk of unwiped areas, the swept parts of a surface containing an arm on a worm-type spindle to allow total cleaning of this mirror. It consists of a mirror of a rear-view mirror (9) exhibiting an arm (3) into which is inserted a worm-type spindle (5). A switch (4) is articulated in the rod (2) onto the relay (8) and provided with a motor (7). When voltage is applied to the motor (7) a direction of rotation is exerted on the flexible cable (6), the rotary transmission of the spindle (5) produces a winding or unwinding and wipes the mirror (9) with the arm (3) in a to and fro direction. The device according to the invention is particularly intended for wiping small surfaces such as a rear-view mirror, headlights, and tail lights of vehicles. <IMAGE>
