System for supplying ground water layers with fresh water, by means of artificial channels flowing out from water courses which pour into the seas or oceans. Openings made in the banks of these water courses will serve as mouths to outflow channels supplying the fresh water layers by the infiltration of water into the ground. Sufficient protection will prevent the banks of the water courses from becoming damaged at the mouths of the channels. Shutters will be used to adjust the flow rate of water into the channels, or if necessary to close the mouth thereof. Small sluices will, as required, maintain a sufficient height of water for light navigation (sailing) in the channels. A concrete-lined wall in conjunction with an area which is also lined with concrete, will serve to protect the banks of the channels at points of high handling. Shrubbery plantations or the like will protect the inside of the banks of the channels by means of their rooting therein.
