Method for improving sealing of a rolling bearing in which a sealing device is in frictional contact with a bearing race, which method consists in soaking the degreased race at the end of the manufacturing process in a bath heated to between 110 and 130 DEG and consisting of a solution of nitrate or sodium nitrite, of caustic soda, and of water, and, after rinsing and drying, in assembling the constituent parts of the rolling bearing and in lubricating the assembled unit. <IMAGE>
