PURPOSE:To transfer a document in a short time by carrying a transfer sheet when a document tip and detecting means detects the tip and of the document fed by means of an automatic document feeder, and transferring an image while carrying the document and the transfer sheet at the same speed from the position of corresponding tip end detecting means when the transfer sheet tip end detecting means detects the tip end of the transfer sheet. CONSTITUTION:The transfer sheet 15 is carried, when the tip end of the document 3 carried by the automatic document feeder 1 is detected by the document tip end detecting means 16, which is installed with a fixed distance on front side of a document reading position; the document and the transfer sheet are carried at the same speed from the tip end detecting means 16 and 17, respectively, when the tip end of the transfer sheet is detected by the transfer sheet tip and detecting means 17, which is installed with the prescribed distance away from a transfer position. Therefore, the tip end of the document 3 is read in the reading position C of an optical system, and an image is formed on a photosensitive body 12; when the tip end of the image is moved to the transfer position B, the tip end of the image coincides with the tip end of the transfer paper. Thus, document reading and transfer can be carried out while carrying the document 3 and the transfer sheet 15 and transfer time can be shortened. |
