The present invention relates to a device of the type consisting of a storage compartment (2) comprising one or more levels separated by trays supporting the bread (3, 4) and whose characteristics are that at least the two tubes (5, 6) forming the front face of said device (1) are hollow and provided with means of communication (7) with, on the one hand, the interior of the compartment (2) and, on the other hand, the interior of a ventilation box (8) located beneath the compartment (2) and separated therefrom by a diffusion plate (9), the bottom of said box (8) consisting in part of a condensation plate (10) forming the lid of a humidity-generating receptacle (11).
