The composite thermal adhesive fiber for nonwoven making is composed of fibrils and matrices which have different melting point with each other. The fibril, which have melting point of 100-170 deg.C lower than that of matrices, are mainly low melting point polyester, polypropylene or polyethylene and occupy about 20-60% of whole fiber cross-section. The matrices are mainly polyester or polyamide and occupy about 80-40% of whole cross-section. The ratio between the no. of fibrils and that of matrices is 2-8/1. The composite fiber which has the side by side, orange cross-section form is crimped to crimp no. 2-30 ea/inch. The resulting fiber of 50-100mm in length is suited for nonwoven without need of binder.
