PURPOSE:To decrease the burden of the device on a power source and to allow the long-term battery-driven use by providing a switching circuit which shuts off a power source for display derive supplied to a flat panel display when the non-use state of a flat panel display is discriminated by a discriminating circuit. CONSTITUTION:The supply of a driving power source (DC 12V, DC 5V) to the display drive circuit, such as liquid crystal display (LCD) 45 or plasma display (PDP) 46, is interrupted when the conditions for using the flat panel display are not complete yet. The circuit power source including a circuit (DC-DC converter) for forming a high-voltage drive power source of large power consumption is, therefore, interrupted. The wasteful power consumption in the state of not using the flat panel display, such as LCD 45 or PDP 46 is consequently averted. The burden of the device on the power source is decreased in this way and the long-term battery-driven operation is enabled. |
