PURPOSE: To eliminate an image ghost and/or to minimize it and to enhance toner fixability by forming cores each comprising a polymer binder containing polysiloxane and dye or pigment grains and encapsulating each core with a polymer shell coating. CONSTITUTION: The encapsulated toner is formed by forming each of the cores containing the dye or pigment grains and the polysiloxane, preferably prepared by free radical polymerization and encapsulating each core by interfacial polycondensation in each microcapsule. The suitable polysiloxane is embodied by polysiloxanes having acryloxy, methacryloxy, and/or styryl functionalities, thus permitting image smearing and occurrence of image ghosts to be prevented and excellent print quality to be obtained. |
