PURPOSE:To obtain the negatively charged toner having a good preservable property and flowability and good transfer efficiency by incorporating the toner particles subjected to a surface treatment with negatively charged silica particles and positively charged silica mixed with the toner particles into the above toner. CONSTITUTION:The polarity of the additives to be added to the toner surface is controlled. Namely, the toner particles subjected to the surface treatment with the negatively charged silica and the positively charged silica mixed with the toner particles are incorporated into the toner. Since the negatively charged toner is strongly stuck by the positive charge on a drum and Coulomb force, the Coulomb force is preferably approximated to 0 as far as possible at the contact point of the drum and the toner in order to accelerate the transfer of the toner to the paper. The positively charged silica having the same polarity as the polarity of the drum is weakly stuck to the toner, by which the very slight Coulomb respulsion is provided between the photosensitive drum and the negatively charged toner and the negative chargeability of the toner is suppressed by the Coulomb respulsion. Thus, the transfer efficiency is improved and the negatively charged toner having the good flowability and preservable property is obtd. |
