A combined sale package and preparation dispersion unit for soluble or volatile deodorants, disinfectants and the like, comprises a hermetically sealed container 1 made of thin readily-cut sheet material for housing said soluble or volatile preparation, the face of said container being at least in part of undulating formation with the crests 2 of the undulations of such a height and so spaced from one another that a cutting implement positioned in an adjacent trough 3 can make such cuts on the side of a crest as are necessary to remove enough material from the crest to form a louvre substantially the width of the crest, to permit ingress of air and egress of vapour from the volatile preparation, and to permit dissolution of the soluble preparation when the dispersion unit is immersed in a liquid. As shown, a flange 9 is provided around the periphery of the container which, after insertion therein of the deodorant block 8, is hermetically sealed to a base sheet 10. A support sheet 11, coextensive with the base sheet, is then secured to the rear surface of the base sheet so as to seal the mouth of the dished-shape container 1. The flange 9 may be surmounted by a cover sheet 15 which is apertured so that the container 1 can pass therethrough. Figs. 4 to 6 (not shown) illustrate how the packages can be adapted for use in lavatory basins or pans. |
