<p>995,530. Regulating liquid levels. PYRENE CO. Ltd. April 10, 1964 [April 10, 1963], No. 14943/64. Heading G1H. In a method of and apparatus for maintaining the level of a liquid 12 between levels 14, 14<SP>1</SP> in a tank 10 a fluid, such as air, under pressure is supplied from a pipe 34 to a pipe 26, the outlet of which pipe 26 is arranged a predetermined distance below the liquid levels 14, 14<SP>1</SP>, so that any alteration in the liquid level will actuate a pressure-sensitive valve 68 to effect the opening or closing of a remote controlled solenoid valve 20 in the liquid supply line 16. In an alternative arrangement, Fig.4 (not shown), the liquid is continuously supplied from the pipe 16 to the tank 10 and the liquid level is controlled by operating a solenoid valve in the pipe through which liquid leaves the tank 10.</p> |
