PURPOSE:To exactly read characteristic data by detecting a recorded part and an unrecorded part and reading the characteristic data according to time intervals between detection signals for these recorded part and unrecorded part when an optical head moves to a characteristic data recording area 1b of a disk 1. CONSTITUTION:When the optical head moves to the characteristic data recording area 1b, the recorded part and the unrecorded part are detected and the characteristic data are read according to the time intervals between the detection signals for the recorded part and the unrecorded part. Namely, by investigating the time interval between the recorded part and the unrecorded part a reproducing signal (t), the characteristic data of a control track C are read. Thus, the characteristic data of the control track C in the characteristic data recording area 1b can be exactly read. |
