<p>A method for obtaining a nitrogen-hydrogen gas mixture for the production of ammonia consisting in two-stage catalytic conversion initial carbons in the presence of water vapour and excess of compressed air to give a nitrogen-hydrogen mixture containing carbon monoxide with subsequent steam conversion of said carbon monoxide to carbon dioxide and hydrogen. The method comprises subsequent separation of the carbon dioxide methanization of the residues of the carbon monoxide, separation of the excess nitrogen from the nitrogen-hydrogen mixture at a pressure close to that of the initial nitrogen-hydrogen mixture and simultaneous extraction of hydrogen at a pressure in the range between a pressure essentially equal to that of the initial nitrogen-hydrogen mixture and that of ammonia synthesis with the desired product being obtained.</p> |
