Drive mechanism for magnetic tape cassette player - uses lever with varying contours to rearrange gear mechanism

The tape cassette apparatus has play/reverse, fast forward/reverse facilities and device in the Reserve-Play position. The apparatus includes a fast spool device (31) which operates through the pressure of pieces (37, 39) against a spring mechanism for fast forward/reverse operation, which is held by a locking device (130) until fast forward/reverse operation is completed. The function selection is achieved by means of a double armed catch lever (131) with a movable arm (131C) and a 'rest' arm (131d), were the contours of the two arms are altered by operation of the pressure operated devices (37, 39). Prferably, the lever (131) is equipped with spring arms (133) on both sides of arm (131c).
