The present invention relates to a method and apparatus for diagnosis of at least one disease by assaying for the presence and/or quantity of a target suspect nucleic acid. This method comprises the steps of: a) modifying partially denatured target nucleic acid sequence by sulfonation; b) contacting said modified target nucleic acid sequence of (a) with at least one known nucleic acid sequence complementary to said target nucleic acid sequences, to form a hybridized complex; c) contacting said hybridized complex (b) with an antibody specific to the said sulfonated portion of said target nucleic acid sequence, to form an antibody-bound complex. |
