In a substantially gastight package, especially a tubular pouch, with two strip-like edge regions of the package material joined together by a seal, there are at least two slits (4, 18, 24, 28) in one of them between which the package material forms a grip by means of which a tear-off region is removed when the package is opened. If use is made of a multi-layer package material the layers of which consist of the series paper, unstretched polyolefine foil or coating, aluminium foil, biaxially stretched polypropylene foil, biaxially stretched polyamide foil, biaxially stretched polyethylene terephthalate foil and a sub-complex of two or three layers of the above materials bonded together with a high peel resistance, where the material layers listed earlier in this series are closer to the packed goods than those listed later, the package material tears from the slits (4, 18, 24, 28) along two approximately parallel lines (8) when the package is opened. |
