The high-ratio reduction drive has several stages, the output one comprising a worm (5) driven output shaft (3), while the preceding stage consists of a belt drive (1). The belt is pref. toothed, and the tooth thickness of the worm can increase continuously in the axial direction. On wear of the intermeshing teeth, it can be slid axially, to bring a thicker portion into engagement with the worm wheel (4). USE/ADVANTAGE - For positioning drives etc., with high precision operation.
