Colour coated glass bricks are produced by flame spraying a brick which is heated to at least the softening temp. of the glass. The coating results from a coloured glass first of grain size 70x10 power (-7) by 150x10 power (-3) mm. Pref. the coating can be partial or complete depending on the use of a pattern plate. The coating may be white, colourless or coloured, transparent, opaque or semi-opaque. To obtain special decorative effects a non-melting component may be included in the coating. The coating thickness is pref. 0.1-0.5mm. ADVANTAGE - A colour consistency is obtd. in the coating which adheres well to the substrate.
