Milling cutter consists of a ring body with circumferential flange which is straddled by arcuate shoulders and strung right round with cassettes fitted out with leading cutter plates. Each cassette forms a circular sector in the axial sense so the U-shaped foot graps round the flange and the inside and endfaces of the free ends of the U-shape legs are supported on the sides of the flanges and the shoulders both sides of this. The flange (12) should have radially protruding cams (15) to suit the number of tool cassettes (20), the U-shaped foot part (21) of each cassette recessed in the trailing base part to suit the shape of the associated cam (15). The cassettes are fixed to the flange by screws (28) led through the legs of the foot part (21). USE/ADVANTAGE - Machine tools.
