<p>The POX genes of C. tropicalis are disrupted resulting in the complete blockage of the beta-oxidation pathway in the strain. Fermentation of C. tropicalis cells having disrupted genes on alkane, fatty acid and fatty acid ester substrates produces substantially pure dicarboxylic acids in substantially quantitative yield.</p> |
