<p>Pulverised C is injected into a blast-furnace using a lance inserted through the wall of a hot-air blast-pipe. The part of the lance protruding into the path of the hot air is of ceramic material resistant to the air temp. The tubular metal structure outside the blast-pipe can be used to support the ceramic tube, the intervening space being filled with insulating material.</p> |
