PURPOSE:To improve quality by disposing a soaking pipe having high heat resistance and high thermal conductivity near the crucible side between the specific furnace core tube in a electric furnace and the V-bottom crucible consisting of a platinum basis and growing the single crystal from the bottom of the crucible. CONSTITUTION:The raw materials for the ferrite crystal are charged into the V-bottomed crucible 1 consisting of the platinum basis disposed in the vertical type annular electric furnace 7 of the apparatus for producing the ferrite single crystal. The fluctuating heat rays generated from a heating element 4 constituting the electric furnace 7 are transmitted to the soaking pipe 2 consisting of Al2O3, ZrO2 or MgO ceramics having the high heat resistance and high thermal conductivity through the furnace core tube 3. The fluctuation in the temp. is relieved by the conduction or radiation of the heat and the heat in the horizontal plane in the soaking pipe 2 is uniformized and the temp. distribution in the crucible 1 is uniformized as well, by which the raw materials in the crucible 1 are melted. The melt is thereafter slowly cooled. The good-quality ferrite single crystal which is free from cracking is thus obtd. |
