<p>A cooling agent for aluminum dross of the invention is one used for separating and recovering metallic aluminum present in the dross formed upon melting aluminum or aluminum alloy, and characterized by comprising 40 to 60 wt % of particles of a carbonaceous substance wherein particles having a particle size of 2 to 7 mm account for 50 % or more, and 40 to 60 wt % of particles of at least one of obsidian, perlite, vermiculite and natural pumice having a particle size of 2 to 7 mm, or comprising 20 to 50 wt % of particles of a carbonaceous substance wherein particles having a particle size of 2 to 7 mm account for 50 % or more, 20 to 50 wt % of particles of at least one of obsidian, perlite, vermiculite and natural pumice having a particle size of 2 to 7 mm and up to 30 wt % of at least one of oxides of metals such as Al, Si, Zr, Cr, Zn, etc. The carbonaceous substance is preferably at least one of coke and charcoal.</p> |
