A method for the treatment of diseases related to loss of bone mass such as osteoporosis, Paget's disease of bone, hyperparathyroidism, malignant neoplasms causing hypercalcinemia, parodontal diseases and implant-related bone loss comprising administration to a patient suffering therefrom an amount of a compound of formula (I), or a pharmaceutically acceptable salt thereof, effective to mitigate the symptons of the bone disease.
