PURPOSE:To obtain an acid collagen fibril liquid or gel capable of forming a uniform and tough coating film or formed coating film, by removing an acid- insoluble collagen from an animal-originated collagen-containing tissue by a specific method without affecting the collagen substrate. CONSTITUTION:An animal-originated collagen-containing tissued is beaten or slit to about 1cm width keeping the acid-insoluble collagen from degradation, and defatted with a reactive fat-decomposition enzyme active under neutral condition (e.g. lipase). The treated tissue is swollen with a dilute aqueous solution of an organic acid such as acetic acid, citric acid, etc. adjusted to 1.5-3.5pH, the acid- soluble collagen is solubilized in a dilute hydrochloric acid solution adjusted to 1.5-2.5pH, and the insoluble collagen is removed by a vacuum suction filter having perforations (preferably 0.4-1.8mm. diameter). The obtained solution or gel is if necessary treated with ultrasonic vibration of 18-20kHz, and then mixed with 0.5-0.003pt., based on 1pt. of the solid component of the solution or gel, of a copolymer of methacrylic acid and ethyl acrylate or methyl acrylate. |
