Mordenite type zeolithe and process for producing the same.

A synthetic crystalline zeolite of mordenite type, characterised in that it has: (a) the following approximate general formula: Na2O.Al2O3.xSiO2 where x is a number between 9 and 30, and (b) an X-ray diffraction pattern shown in Table I of the description, (c) a fluorine content of between approximately 0.005 and 2.0% by weight, and in that it has been synthesised in a fluoride medium. The invention also relates to a process for the preparation of the said zeolite. This zeolite can be employed especially in adsorption and in catalysis.
