The data key has grooves on both edges to record the code. The data key is inserted between a light emitting diode and a phototransistor then a CPU compares the data to the recorded reference data so that a release signal is generated when two kinds of data are coincide. The circuit includes a key reader for reading the data recorded on the data key, an input data modulator including a shift registor (IC5) and a counter (IC6) for modulating the input data a reference data recorder including switch arraies (SW1-SW5) for setting the reference data, a discriminator for comparing the input data and the reference data and transmitting the release signal, and a time adjuster for adjusting the interval of the time.
