Insulin derivs. of structure (I) are new. In (I): R is a glyceride residue bonded to the free amine gp(s). at B1 and/or B29 by a connecting chain (spacer molecule). Pref. R is a phospholipid. The spacer molecule may be e.g. sulphuryl chloride, phosphoric acid anhydride, phosgene or diacid chlorides or anhydrides of e.g. fumaric acid, adipic acid, succinic acid, etc.. USE/ADVANTAGE - (I) have better absorption properties and are capable of self aggregation in soln. .
