METHOD FOR SEPARATING OF STYRENE FROM REFUCE STYRENE RESINS

The method is applied in the petrochemical industry. It ensures an almost complete separation of styrene from waste styrene resins. The method involves carrying out a vacuum-distillation using a high-boiling aromatic solvent, in which all the components of styrene resins are dissolved and which contribute to the decrease of their viscosity. The lowest-boiling component, a styrene monomer, is released in the course of distillation. The residual resins contain styrene polymers, inhibitors, 3-5 % styrene-monomer and a high-boiling aromatic solvent.
