PURPOSE:To improve reliability on oil and a plasticizer of a color-developed picture by laminating a thermal coloring layer containing a leuco dye shown in a specific general formula and a coloration agent shown in specific general formula onto a support and forming a thermal recording material. CONSTITUTION:A leuco dye shown in formula I (R1 and R2 represent a lower alkyl group, a cycloalkyl group, an aralkyl group, etc., R3 H, the lower alkyl group, etc., and R4 and R5 H, an alkoxy group, etc.) and a coloration agent shown in formula II are crushed and dispersed by using a crusher such as a sand grinder in an aqueous medium containing a binding agent such as polyvinyl alcohol in proper concentration, thus preparing a coating fluid for a thermal coloring layer. The upper section of a support such as wood free paper is coated with the coating fluid, the coating fluid is dried, and the thermal coloring layer is formed, and a thermal recording material is shaped. A color-developed picture has strong absorptive power extending over approximately 700-900nm in the recording material. |
