PURPOSE:To perform a high-speed recording superior in smoothness and the like without generating irregularities in color forming by a method wherein paper is passed through a pressurizing nip so that the surface of a thermal recording layer or protective layer comes into contact with the surface of a metallic roll to be smoothened. CONSTITUTION:Thermal recording sheet 9 is passed through a pressurizing nip consisting of a long, endless, elastic belt 3 rotatively running with the rotation of a backing roll 2 and a metallic roll 1 so that the surface of a thermal recording layer or protective layer comes into contact with the surface of the metallic roll 1. In this manner, the surface of the thermal recording layer or protective layer is smoothened. Thus, a thermal recording sheet superior in smoothness, image quality, whiteness, color forming density, and the like, suitable for high speed recording, and free from irregularities in color forming is made available. |
