PURPOSE:To prevent texture blushing during formation by laminating a thermal recording layer containing a coloration agent and a colorless or light-colored basic dye shown in specific general formula on a support and forming a thermal recording body. CONSTITUTION:Water, etc., are used as a dispersion medium, and a basic dye shown in formula I (R1-R10 represent H, a halogen atom, an alkyl group, etc., R11 a lower alkyl group, etc., and (a), (b), (c) and (d) a carbon atom) and a coloration agent are dispersed together by an agitating and crushing machine such as a ball mill, an attritor, a sand mill, etc., thus preparing a coating fluid. The upper section of a supporter such as neutral paper is coated with the coating fluid by a coater such as an air-knife coater and the coating fluid is dried, and a thermal recording layer is formed and a thermal recording body is shaped.
