VECTOR QUANTIZATION CODING SYSTEM

摘要

PURPOSE:To input a picture with high quality by using a code book in response to a characteristic of an input picture so as to apply vector quantization coding of a picture data. CONSTITUTION:A picture characteristic evaluation section 105 receiving a picture data 403 and evaluating the picture characteristic is added to the system. The picture characteristic evaluation section 105 evaluates the characteristic of an input picture and varies a frame number constituting a training series to generate a code hook suitable for a picture data, then the vector quantization in response to a change in the input picture. Thus, the picture with high picture quality is outputted.
