PURPOSE:To obtain the subject powdery composition, containing hemoferrum and an oligosaccharide and capable of readily producing a healthy food useful for supplying iron. CONSTITUTION:A powdery composition containing hemoferrum and an oligosaccharide at (60:40)-(90:10), preferably (70:30)-(80:20) weight ratio. Hemoferrum obtained by adding an aqueous solution of chitosan to an aqueous suspension of the hemoferrum prepared as a hemoglobin degradation product, regulating the pH while stirring the mixture and separating the hemoferrum obtained in a suspended state with a filter press, etc., if preferably used as the hemoferrum. To a mixture of both, are added 1-5wt.% water and 20-40wt.% alcohol. The resultant mixture is granulated to regulate moisture to 0.5-4wt.%, preferably 1-2wt.%. The prepared mixture is then formed under 700-1000kg/cm<2>, preferably 800-900kg/cm<2> pressure to afford a tablet having a breaking strength within the range of 0.5-8kg/cm<2>, especially 1-5kg/cm<2>. Effects, such as selective proliferating action on Lactobacillus bifidus, of the oligosaccharide can be also expected from the above-mentioned tablet. |
